Calcium:
An element naturally occurring in teeth, bones, and nails that contributes to hardness.
  
Calendula:
An emollient believed to have soothing, healing, and antiseptic properties. It normally used to treat dry skin.
  
Callus:
An excessive build up of the hard tough layers of skin. It is a hardened or thickened part of the skin caused by pressing or rubbing. Can be removed at-home or by an esthetician.
  
Candela Wax:
Binds oils and waxes to give body to a formulation and it often used in lipsticks.
  
Capillary:
The smallest of the body's blood vessels. Spider veins, for example, are in fact small capillaries normally found on the face or legs.
  
Cellulite:
Deposits of fat and other material trapped in pockets beneath the skin. Or it is the word used to refer to the fatty deposits that cause a dimpled or uneven look of the skin, normally around the thighs and buttocks.
  
Ceramides:
Natural substance within the skin that reduces natural water loss (moisture loss) of the skin by forming a protective barrier. Can as well be produced synthetically and added to skin care products.
  
Cetearyl Alcohol:
An ingredient procured from palm oil and used to congeal formulas and moisturize the skin.
  
Cetyl Alcohol:
The most important ingredient in cetearyl alcohol.
  
Cetyl Palmitate:
Softens skin and used to thicken a product.
  
Chakras:
Energy centers all through the body responsible for the state of your mind, body and spirit.
  
Chamomile:
A natural ingredient used to calms eczema and allergic reactions of the skin. It is clinically proven plant-derived anti-inflammatory. It offers benefits like soothing skin.
  
Citric Acid:
The same as vitamin C, acids from citrus fruits used to reduce pH levels in skin commonly used in hair and skincare products. Has astringent and antioxidant properties and also can be used as a preservative.
  
Citronella Oil:
Antiseptic extensively used in soaps and deodorizers. Also has insect-repelling properties and an essential oil used in perfumery.
  
Clarifying:
Normally related with a toner or other solution used after cleansing to keep proper skin pH.
  
Cleanser:
A product used to remove every day oil and debris.
  
Clinically Tested:
Product was tested to guarantee it will perform as written.
  
Coenzyme Q10:
Naturally found in human tissue; as well used as an antioxidant.
  
Collagen:
A natural substance found in the connective tissue and provides shape to skin and cartilage within body tissues. It can be injected into the skin to plump up exacting areas.
  
Comedogenic:
Potential to cause blemishes.
  
Conditioner:
A product used to restore hair or skin to a usual balance.
  
Cortex:
The middle layer of the hair shaft and the cortex determines the color and texture of the hair.
  
Creatine:
A protein derivative in muscle tissue. At times found in body-building supplements.
  
Cucumber Juice:
It has moisture-binding, soothing and tightening properties. For example, it is used on the face to tighten the pores and stop the skin from drying out.
